BeeTV on Google TV: What Works and What Does Not
Google TV recommendation surfaces, profile handling and app policy as they relate to BeeTV compatibility.

Google TV is a content-forward layer over Android TV. Its home screen is built around recommendation feeds fed by participating apps, which changes how a non-store application fits in.
Integration gaps
- No Watch Next or continue-watching rows, because those require a store-approved integration.
- No inclusion in universal search results across the system.
- No Google TV profile or parental-control awareness.
- Voice search cannot deep-link into the app.
Runtime behaviour
Because Google TV devices run current Android releases, the platform restrictions that affect handsets apply here too: scoped storage, notification permissions and target SDK enforcement. Older builds of any app are increasingly likely to fail on these devices rather than merely degrade.
Storage pressure
The Chromecast with Google TV HD and 4K models ship with roughly 8 GB of storage, of which several gigabytes are consumed by the system. Cache growth from a media client will fill the remainder quickly, producing crashes and failed writes that look like app bugs.
